Bracelet of the Day: Sandra Silky - Lilac & Silver

  • 11/0 seed bead Toho "Nickel Plated" (711)
  • 8/0 seed bead Toho "Nickel Plated" (711)
  • Silky beads "Opaque Lilac"
  • SuperDuo beads "Opaque Violet White Luster"

I had just enough of these Silky beads and SuperDuos to make this bracelet. I was going to make it for myself but decided that it would be silly to waste the last few Silkies that would be left. So, this will be a present for someone, either for a birthday or Christmas.

This bracelet is my adaptation of Norma Jean Dell's "Lattice Gates Bracelet" pattern. Her original pattern is made with CzechMates. I made a single row of the pattern for a narrower band and substituted Silky beads for the CzechMates. You can buy Norma Jean Dell's original tutorial HERE. If you try to buy the pattern and Etsy tells you that it has been sold, just keep trying and eventually it will be relisted.

I am on the Beadaholique's email list and this morning I got one about their free basic beading tutorials. If you go to THIS page of their site, you'll find videos to watch as well as very nicely illustrated PDF tutorials to download. The bead weaving stitches that are covered are Square Stitch, Ladder Stitch, Brick Stitch, Peyote Stitch, Herringbone Stitch and Right Angle Weave.
